The Los Angeles based advertising merchandise business Inkface was formed February 2003 from the ground up by yours truly Jeffrey Ringer. Before venturing out to create Inkface I was working at a promotional marketing company and at night I was managing/helping a noble rock n roll project. The plan was to learn the corporate merchandise industry at this company, have the flexibility of offering a product and service in which most every business and company can use, help my friends, coordinate merchandise for the band, have an influence in their sound and material, have fun, make some connections, attempt to travel the world exposing the music project. It was intense, educational and overall an uplifting experience. My two full time jobs complimented one another and the energy from the music project was being felt creatively in the advertising industry, while the label relations and other connections motivated the bands practice intensity and the music's evolution.
As my day work continued I became increasingly agitated with clashing ideas and other limiting factors of not being the boss. I felt this was negatively affecting the creative process thus my personal and business relationships, to say I was ready for a change would be an understatement. With the music project loosing momentum and confident my choice customers would trust me, I left the company and the band to create Inkface Branding. Next thing I knew I was writing my first invoice for my first project of self employment. The first project was with a funded Los Angeles based band. I already had the relationship with Sony Music Distribution and they quickly became my second customer. I started producing fun retail level 'value ad on' premiums for many of the labels record launches. The items I was producing were given away at the retail music stores with the purchase of the new cd. My merchandise was helping promote the cd using street level advertising methods, fun and word of mouth. The nitche was working and these projects came along with concert invitations, interesting meetings at the label, creation with touring artist, new friends, and of course free cd's, I was happy and had a great start on my new founded business!
Word of mouth seemed to spread and the very first year my customers included Sony Music, Harmonia Mundi, Elias Arts, Primal Scream Music, Timeless Communications, Xenon Pictures, Ironclad, Kennedy School of Government, and a few funded touring bands.

Inkface has built momentum and currently produces custom branding merchandise and apparel for corporate events, brand recognition, product launches, value ad on premiums, retail sales, gifts, trade show and also handles paper print projects. While offering creative graphics design, photography, identity, logo direction, video game ad placement.
Inkface enjoys the process of producing while blending art creation and foundational business ethics each day. This combination has worked over the years developing strong relationships delivering a fun, memorable, and relative advertising product - making people smile along the way!
